Division of Occupational Licensure Files FY25 Annual Report With the People’s Legislature
The Division of Occupational Licensure has submitted its mandatory FY25 annual report to the People’s Legislature, fulfilling the bureau’s obligations under Section 1 of Chapter 147 of the General Laws — and was promptly placed on file by the Senate on April 30, 2026.
The report documents the activities of the agency responsible for credentialing the Commonwealth Soviet’s licensed trades and professions — barbers, funeral directors, electricians, and dozens of other workers whose right to labor is contingent on approval from the relevant licensing board. No legislator sponsored the filing; the Division itself is the named submitter, as required by statute.
No new powers are granted. No funds are appropriated. No workers are newly liberated or newly encumbered. SD.3876 is, in the fullest sense, the state filing a report about itself, with itself, confirming that it has continued to exist and to issue licenses. The Senate acknowledged receipt and placed the document on file, which is the legislative equivalent of a nod.
