People’s Legislature Approves FY2027 Collective Resource Allocation Plan, 149 to 9

The House of the Commonwealth Soviet has passed Bill H.5501, the fiscal year 2027 general appropriations act, authorizing expenditures for every department, board, commission, and institution of the People’s Republic beginning July 1, 2026.

The Politburo approved the measure on April 29, 2026, by a vote of 149 yeas to 9 nays — a margin that suggests either broad ideological consensus or a well-functioning whip operation. The bill carries an emergency preamble, meaning it takes effect immediately upon signing rather than waiting the customary 90 days, as the deferred operation of a budget is generally considered inconvenient for the continued functioning of state government.

The decree has since been transmitted to the Senate and referred to the Subcommittee on Senate Ways and Means, where it will be revised, debated, and returned in a form its House authors may or may not recognize. All citizens of the Commonwealth contribute to the collective through taxation; all departments of the collective receive their allocations in return. The arrangement is considered satisfactory by 149 commissars.
