Trial Court Submits Eviction Statistics to the People’s Legislature, Fulfilling Bureaucratic Obligation

The Executive Office of the Trial Court has delivered to the Senate its mandatory report under Section 15(c) of Chapter 239 of the General Laws, documenting eviction filings, actions, and dispositions across the Commonwealth from January 2025 through March 2026 — fulfilling, to the letter, the reporting requirements the People’s Legislature imposed upon it.

The report produces no new law, appropriates no funds, and names no enemies of the housing collective. It exists because a prior decree said it must exist. Tenants facing removal from their dwelling units are its subject; the courts that processed those removals are its authors. Report SD.3849 was placed on file by the Senate on April 15, 2026 — the bureaucratic equivalent of a nod of acknowledgment from a man who has already moved on to other matters.

Whether the statistics contained therein reveal a housing crisis deepening or stabilizing, a judiciary overwhelmed or efficient, the People’s Legislature has received the document and filed it. The collective has been informed. The collective will proceed accordingly, or it will not.

Decree Rating: ☭ — A report about a report, filed and forgotten, as the dialectic intended.
