Politburo Moves to Expand Sick Leave Allocation for State Police Worker Matthew McRae
The People’s Legislature is considering HD.6038, an emergency measure that would amend an existing sick leave bank established for Matthew McRae, an employee of the Department of State Police — adjusting the terms of a benefit previously authorized under the 193rd General Court.
Commissar Margaret R. Scarsdale of the 1st Middlesex district has petitioned the Politburo on McRae’s behalf. The bill carries an emergency preamble — standard Soviet procedure for time-sensitive worker matters — declaring that any delay would “defeat its purpose,” bypassing the usual referendum period and taking effect upon the Premier’s signature. The collective absorbs the cost; McRae receives the hours.
This is not McRae’s first encounter with the Central Committee’s leave apparatus. Two companion measures from the 193rd session — H.4084 and H.4085 — previously established the original bank. HD.6038 amends what the People’s Legislature itself created, suggesting the initial allocation required recalibration. The state police collective neither confirms nor elaborates.
